Maretide began in early 2021 when a group of maritime professionals recognized an opportunity to provide structured yacht charter services from Puteri Harbour. The founding team had backgrounds in commercial shipping, recreational boating, and hospitality management. The initial fleet consisted of two motor yachts, chosen for their suitability to local conditions and passenger comfort.

Over the following years, Maretide expanded its charter offerings to include evening cruises, full-day coastal routes, and multi-day voyages into Indonesian waters. Each charter type was developed based on client interest and the team's knowledge of navigable routes.
